March 2013 Fortune Minerals Limited supported equipment purchases for the Whati Youth Hockey Program and contributed to the 2013 Winter Carnival. The carnival is a family-focused, week-long event in Whati. February 2013 A team from Fortune Minerals Limited participated in the Dease Lake Men's Hockey tournament. January 2013 Fortune Minerals Limited sponsored a Behchoko winter hockey program organized by the Rae-Edzo Friendship Centre and NWT Hockey. The clinics provide Behchoko youth with an opportunity to develop skating and hockey skills and to participate in friendly competition.
December 2012 Fortune Minerals Limited contributed to the Breakfast for Learning program in the Behchokö, Wekweètì, Gamètì and Whatì communities. Breakfast for Learning is a national charity that educates, and empowers communities to deliver school based nutrition programs, helping children and youth realize their full potential in life. “Mezi Community School Staff, students and community members would like to thank Fortune Minerals for providing financial support towards our breakfast program. The event consists of a traditional Christmas dinner, presents for the children who attend and pictures with Santa Clause. December 11, 2012 Staff at Fortune Minerals Limited participated in a team building event that raised funds for the Sunshine Foundation in London, Ontario. The Sunshine Foundation provides individual dreams to children with severe physical disabilities as well as life-threatening illnesses. September 17, 2012 Fortune Minerals Limited joins the Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program at the Committed Level. PAR is the first and only corporate responsibility assurance program in the world with an emphasis on Aboriginal relations.
June 29, 2012 Fortune Minerals Limited sponsored the Tahltan Bike Ride 2012 and received many thanks from Rick Maclean, Chief of the Tahltan Nation for its strong support. 4 riders rode 112 km from Dease Lake, BC to Telegraph Creek, BC to raise funds to assist area families/residents, including First Nations with the very high cost of medical travel.

Youth competitors from different communities participated in the NWT South Regional Skills Competition, presented by Skills Canada NWT. Students competed in categories such as welding, cooking, hairstyling, photography, graphic design and workplace safety.
