Fortune Minerals Hydrometallurgical Facility - Open House Notification
Project Overview
Fortune Minerals Limited is proposing to develop a hydrometallurgical facility within Alberta's Industrial Heartland in Lamont County, Alberta. The proposed facility would be located at 554065 Range Road 202, within an existing industrial zone. The legal land description is NW ¼ Sec. 26-55-20-W4M.
Facility Purpose
The facility would process mineral concentrates from Fortune Minerals planned NICO Mine in the Northwest Territories. It would produce three critical minerals including Cobalt, Bismuth, Copper and Gold.
Regulatory Process
The Project will require approval under Alberta's Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA). Fortune Minerals anticipates submitting its EPEA approval application in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Open Houses
Fortune Minerals is holding two open houses to provide interested parties with information about the proposed facility before the regulatory review process begins:
